This leading global pet food processor asked EAD to provide engineering services for an ammonia upgrade project. The plant obtained several audits that required updates to its current ammonia safety system, including detection, ventilation and equipment updates.
Working directly with the plant, EAD developed a scope, budget and schedule to obtain funding for the project. EAD then designed a custom ammonia alarm detection system that interfaced with the current system, and designed the necessary control panels and ventilation system to meet the PHA and PSM audit requirements.
EAD also used our project management skills to bring the project to successful completion, working with various contractors to resolve major issues such as re-piping the ammonia lines to the roof to make the control banks accessible and prevent forklift damage. In addition, EAD addressed details such as tagging and P&ID updates.
