Quarterly Trooper Recognition: Kim Thompson
Each Quarter, EAD recognizes three employees for living out our values. These three employees have made a significant contribution and demonstrated our values in one of the three categories: Customer Service, Internal Customer Service, or Process Improvement. This month we recognize Kim Thompson for her internal customer service by living out our values of being “loyal to the company, the people and the cause” and “being someone you can trust”.
Kim has been with the company for 7 years now and has served as the friendly face that welcomes clients, visitors, and new employees to our Omaha office. Her dog Shilo is right alongside her, which makes visitor’s smiles even bigger.
Just a few weeks ago, EAD was called upon to respond to a client’s emergency. Responding to this emergency requiring nearly a dozen of our employees to drop everything and travel down to the client site within the next couple of days. Booking last second flights and travel arrangements is a headache for one, let alone for the entire engineering and project support teams on the project. Even more troublesome was coordinating and changing travel for some of the individuals traveling down to meet other clients needs during that same time.
All of this occurred on a day that Kim had requested personal time. During a crucial time for our client, and when our company resources were maxing out, Kim willingly sacrificed her personal time and stayed to ensure travel arrangements for all our employees responding to our client’s needs. Kim’s sacrifice was appreciated by not only those who were traveling, but the others in the office who would have been taking care of the travel arrangements in her absence. Kim is a jack of many trades, and undoubtedly our best resource for travel arrangements.
Kim’s continued demonstration of our values is impressive and admirable. In addition to all the other unrecognized or underappreciated things Kim does for EAD, Kim serves as a quiet leader of our company culture as she does it by example.
