EAD was awarded a contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (St. Louis District) to provide control panels control systems upgrades as part of their Melvin Price Locks and Dam Controls Upgrade Project. In cooperation with IPS, EAD designed, built, programmed, and tested 17 new panels and custom-engineered NEMA 12 electrical enclosures in a range of sizes.
The manufacturing and assembly processes were completed at one time so that all 17 enclosures could be networked together for three days of burn-in and factory acceptance testing (FAT). The testing was performed by EAD engineers with the approval of on-site St. Louis District personnel. Upon completion, all units were processed for shipping and on-site installation. Even though the client fast-tracked the project, EAD /IPS was still able to complete it on time and within the budget requirements. EAD / IPS earned an exceptional performance rating for this project in 90 percent of its categories.
