EAD acted as the owner’s representative for an artificial sweetener producer in support of the preparation and execution of their electrical and instrumentation bid package. We ensured that the client’s installation process complied with its global standards, specifications, and requirements. We also created an (E&I) construction cost estimate, conducted pre-bid meetings, evaluated proposals, selected contractors, conducted pre-mobilization estimate, conducted pre-bid meetings, evaluated proposals, selected contractors, conducted pre-mobilization meetings, coordinated shutdowns, and developed process narratives compliant with ISA 88 standards.
Our client’s electrical and instrumentation contractors were new and therefore unfamiliar with our clients existing processes. Shared utilities and a raw product stream with an existing facility added further challenges to the project as planning and utilization of downtime to make utility connections were crucial. It was therefore up to EAD to ensure that all of the client specifications for installation were met and that all contractors performed in accordance with the high expectations of our client.
EAD coordinated the development of a temporary power solution that allowed the facility to continue production during the final phase of construction. We also developed and maintained metrics that tracked their project from document development and user acceptance testing through implementation. Thanks to these solutions, our client’s project was executed on schedule, within budget, and with zero recordable injuries.
