EAD is honored to announce that two of our clients, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Novozymes, on their inclusion in Fortune’s “Change the World” list based on three criteria: 1. Measurable social impact, 2. Business results and 3. Degree of innovation.
Fortune listed GSK, which came in at No. 1, for “breaking down global health care barriers and finding the customers of the future.” The sixth-largest pharmaceutical company in the world, GSK announced in
March 2016 that it will no longer file drug patents in the lowest-income regions of the world. It also reinvests 20% of its profits in the least developed countries into training health workers and building medical infrastructure, according to Fortune.
EAD provides structural engineering, controls services and support to GSK’s Lincoln, Nebraska plant.
Novozymes, which Fortune listed as No. 9, finds microbes that make products – from detergents to animal feed – more eco-friendly. With EAD’s help at its Blair, Nebraska plant, Novozymes isolates and produces enzymes and microorganisms that helped customers save 60 million tons of CO2 emissions, improve water efficiency by 9% and energy efficiency by 15%.
EAD administers Novozymes capital projects at the bio-refinery campus outside of Omaha, which include integration and rework of systems. EAD also improved plant efficiency due with the new cooling tower system that provides the site with a critical utility for sustainable operation.
