Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry that builds homes for people in need. Welcoming volunteers and supporters from all areas of the world, they build new or repair existing homes to serve the nearly 2 billion homeless individuals around the globe. Founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, they have built over 1,000,000 houses serving 5 million individuals worldwide. EAD teamed up with Habitat for Humanity for the second year to aid on two separate homes. In one home EAD transferred framing lumber from outside to the inside of the first and second floors. Once inside, the next step was to install joist doublers on part of the second floor framing and install temporary wall framing. In the second home EAD helped strip all of the trim paint, then taped and performed touch up painting on the walls, ceilings, and trim throughout the home. Individuals that volunteered their time to on this project were willing to step up and work hard, as a result the two homes were one step closer to a needing family. Thank you to all of the volunteers who aided in a successful project.
