A major cereal manufacturer looking to meet consumer demand for their brand name cereal products hired EAD to remove a packaging system for a product that was no longer needed in their network.
The manufacturer wanted to find a way to expand their cereal manufacturing capacity without the need to spend a significant amount of money on a building expansion. After a thorough analysis of our client’s systems and specifications, EAD designed a new single bagger packaging line that fit in the space where the old packaging system was removed. Through careful and innovative engineering that took into account our client’s existing equipment and product requirements, we were able to design the system so that it did not impact any of our client’s existing packaging lines.
The newly designed packaging line increased the efficiency of our client’s process, delivering between 70 – 80 packages per minute. It included a new food handling system and surge bin, scale, bagger, bag conveyors, cartoner, carton conveyors, X-Ray, and case packer system. We ensured that our design met all OSHA and client safety standards and even developed and installed all of our client’s log-out tag-out (LOTO) charts to bring them in compliance with current safety codes.
